Selling coins and bullion from Southlake

Southlake is younger than it looks. Residents voted to incorporate on September 25, 1956, to keep a larger neighbor from annexing them, and the name came from the newly finished Grapevine Lake on the city's north edge. Before that, the land was a scatter of small settlements called Whites Chapel, Dove, Union Church and Jellico. Farm roads like Dove and White Chapel still carry those names today.

The town stayed rural for years. When DFW International opened in the 1970s, Southlake became a commuter suburb almost overnight, and the decades since have brought executives, physicians and business owners. Southlake Town Square, along State Highway 114, became the center of town, and Carroll ISD's Dragons became a point of local pride.

That kind of growth shapes what we see from Southlake homes. Many sellers here bought gold and silver on purpose, as a hedge, through a wealth manager or an online bullion seller. A Southlake safe might hold tubes of Gold Eagles, a few 10 ounce silver bars, Krugerrands or Gold Buffalos. These sell on metal content, so each piece goes under the XRF reader, then onto a scale inspected by the Texas Department of Agriculture, and the price comes from the live spot price shown on screen.

Graded coins are common here too. Some buyers built sets of PCGS and NGC slabs as collections; others bought them as investments and never looked closely again. We read each holder, check the grade and certification, and give an offer based on what dealers will pay for that coin in that grade today. When a coin's premium has shrunk since it was bought, we say so.

Southlake estates bring their own needs. A parent who moved here to be near grandchildren may leave a collection the family never knew existed. Executors often want each coin listed in writing, item by item, for probate or for splitting things fairly among heirs before anyone sells. We prepare that list, and you can sell some, all or none of the collection.

Privacy matters here, and an appointment with us is private. There is no counter and no audience. For larger holdings, call to set up a home appointment, and the coins can stay put while you think it over. Bring a photo ID either way.

Selling coins from Southlake

How do you price gold bars and bullion coins from Southlake?

We test each piece for metal content, weigh it, and tie the offer to the live spot price on screen. You see the numbers that make up the offer before you decide.

Can you handle a wire transfer for a larger sale?

Yes, wire is available for larger purchases. For smaller ones we pay by cash or check before you leave.

We need an appraisal for probate. Do you provide that?

Yes. We prepare a written item-by-item appraisal listing each coin with its date, mint mark and grade. Heirs can use it to divide the collection before anyone sells.

Is my information kept private?

Yes. Appointments are one on one, and we do not discuss your collection with anyone outside your family. Texas law does require us to record your photo ID if you sell.
